About Augusta, MO - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Augusta, MO is a small town with a population of just around 300 residents who call Augusta home. This town may be small in numbers but it has big opportunities for fun and relaxation. All American past times are part of everyday life here and friendly faces and slow paces are part of this town’s charm. The town was founded in 1836 by a gentleman named Leonard Harold who was on the trail to Saint Charles County behind Daniel Boone. You can visit the historic home of Daniel Boone here in Augusta at The Daniel Boone Historic District. In 1855, when it was incorporated, Augusta became a prosperous agricultural community and continues to thrive today.
While maintaining its quaint feel, Augusta holds the prestigious title of the first American Viticultural Area Award when it was awarded the title in 1980 ahead of the more familiar Napa Valley wine country. Its’ beautiful rolling hills and rich agricultural soil make it the perfect home for the four local vineyards; Blumenhof, Chandler Hill, Louis D. Balducci and Nobolies. Augusta is also home to the KATY trail and the Klondike National Park. There are plenty of recreational activities such as camping, hiking, biking, fishing and wildlife viewing to enjoy on the trail and in the park. There seems to be a little bit of something for everyone here in Augusta with its rich history and beautiful landscape.
August is located just thirty-five miles west of Saint Louis and sits in the Missouri River Valley. Changing seasons bring various weather patterns to Augusta’s continental climate. While the warm summers lend themselves to time well spent fishing and on the hiking trails, it can mean an average of around 43 days above 90 hence residents tend to be more comfortable after a long day with reliable air conditioning options. The humidity in Augusta generally averages in the 80’s but can climb into the 90’s in the summer months. This may be great for your skin, but mostly closed windows and doors warrant the use of an efficient air filtration system. Winters get below freezing in Augusta and colder temperatures outside can mean hot cocoa with friends and family enjoying the comfort of a well regulated furnace throughout the holiday and late winter seasons.
