West St. Louis County, Missouri  is located on the border of St. Louis. There are twelve towns in the county including Ballwin, Chesterfield, Clarkson Valley, Des Peres, Ellisville, Eureka, Manchester, Town and Country, Twin Oaks, Valley Park, Creve Coeur and Wildwood.  Although the town is part of the St. Louis Metropolitans Statistics Area it does not include the city of St. Louis.  There are around 200,000 residents who call West St. Louis County home.

There are so many reasons to come out to visit this beautiful area.  The towns are filled with rich history museums and monuments.  There a numerous parks in each of the towns with recreational opportunities for all ages.  Six Flags is one of the areas highlights. The park opened originally in 1971 under the name Six Flags Mid-America and it was the last park built under the Six Flags name.  Four of the parks roller coasters are named in the top ten in the Roller Coaster Data Base.    Hidden Valley Ski Resort is another must see in the area.  Residents and visitors to the area with a variety of snow filled activities.  The KATY State Park is for outdoor enthusiasts off all ages.  The trail has a total of 237 miles and is open to hiking, walking, running, biking and horseback riding through the countryside of Missouri’s beautiful wine country.  You may also want to visit the Missouri Weintrasse on highway 94.  The Augusta, Balducci, Montelle and Sugarcreek  wineries are exceptional and make for a relaxing way to spend time in this area.

A continental climate in West St. Louis County means a variety of weather conditions throughout the year.  Sunny summer months mean residents can spend long days on the trails hiking.  Humidity and temperatures in this area can climb to 90 for a good part of the season and residents here rely heavily on air conditioning systems that provide the cool comfort.  When the temperatures fall below freezing during the winter residents can spend more time indoors reading up on the local history and need a well maintained furnace to keep them cozy.
